Medical Myth: Eating too much sugar causes diabetes
FALSE - at least not directly. Type 2 diabetes - the most common type - is caused by insulin resistance, a condition in which the body is unable to make enough or properly use insulin. Type 2 diabetes often is realted to being overweight. Age, heredity, gender and a family history also can be risk factors. Because sugar is a calorie-dense food, eating too much of it may contribute to unhealthy weight gain. So although sugar may not directly lead to diabetes, moderation is key.

If this were true - I would have it! I totally agree since I grew up with a Diabetic, and there are 2 more - my grandmas, so I know a bunch about it! Dave is one, and was in the big study for Insulin Pumps and the great benefit of them v. shots. It was a 10 year study, and he loves the pump, and because of him, I learned a bunch!
